Re: Are there exhaust fumes flappers in OMC stringers?

yes, all stringer intermediates contain water shutters. two in V6 and V8 applications. Port wine side only on inline 4 and 6.

Re: Are in that respect consume flappers in OMC stringers?

shouldn't represent stikin. If it is, evenhanded rev the engine, the exhaust will push it open.

"a fool won't heed it" eh...

Meter to stop the nominate calling.
Chief, I think what Leslie Howard meant is that all stringers SHOULD have one (or two). If you notice, in your liaison above, that item #81 is titled an Exhaust Seal AY. (aka flapper)
Now, if you go to the stringer drive and flavour under adapter caparison (here is an example) http://www.dougrussell.com/partscat...6,237,238,239,240,241,242,243,244,245,246,247

You will find that point #42 is called an Fumes Seal AY
That "Exhaust Seal" is not in the intermediate housing, but in the adapter housing.

Re: Are on that point exhaust flappers in OMC stringers?

Don and Howard are both correct, the links they show is the Stringer variant of the exhaust flapper, the link up that Chief showed is for a Cobra where it's in the exhaust pipage or the Y pipe on a V model. All Stringers would hold come from the manufacturing plant with it just like the Cobra's.

Well helium started information technology, so there.

Actually, I remember you did. Aft all, it is the terminal 5 words of your signature he was quoting.

What motor and year you pull that up from?

I used a 1985 5.7. Simply the 3.0 shows the aforementioned exact matter.
Go HERE
Opt the engine you want then click on "Adapter Housing & Shift Assy" (It's the prototypal happening the list so information technology should be easy to find)

And i know guys have the 86' 3.0 Cobra and it shows the flapper in the diagram but not installed on on that point boat.

Even the Cobra's had flappers installed earlier, and again since 86 they Crataegus laevigata throw fallen knocked out or not installed during some sustainment, but they were there when recent. Or at least should have been.

Re: Are there exhaust flappers in OMC stringers?

For 85' they don't show one, and my motor doesn't have ace

your gravy holder had one originally.

Might be a good idea to pull the riser pipeline and poke a screwdriver down the exhaust left and figure if it's still in tact.

if you pull the screwdriver dead promptly, you'll hear it slam shut with a tone down thud if the prophylactic is still good
